2026 JKF Gojukai Europe Masters' Seminar

Kata is the soul of karatedo and Goju-Ryu Karatedo Kata are rich in detailed self‑defense practical interpretations crossed with profound knowledge for mental and physical stimulation, as it is also a technical domain of performance analysis for testing black belts (dan testing) and a competitive discipline of Karate.

The standards in Goju-Ryu Karatedo for Kata are developed with the participation of various teachers and researchers from different schools and associations, and the richness of these different research on the mat of sensei Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Goju-Ryu, are leaded in Japan Karate Federation by the “kata instructing committee” of JKF Goju-Kai linking traditional and modern knowledge for present and future.

JKF Gojukai - Europe established in 1997 under presidency of Shihan Leo Lipinski, organized many JKF Gojukai Seminars and Testing events on different countries in Europe from 1997 to 2012 – date of the last JKF Gojukai Europe Seminar. After 14 years we will organize again a JKF Gojukai - Europe Seminar. It will be in Portugal, on the city of Viseu, where in 2001 JKF Gojukai Portugal organized for the first time a JKF Gojukai European Seminar, followed by four more JKF Gojukai European events  (2002, 2004, 2005 and 2010), with teachers from headquarters of JKF Goju-Kai (Japan).

We are pleased to invite you to come to 2026 JKF Goju-Kai – Europe Seminar that will be organized in Portugal (Viseu city) on the 16th and 17th May 2026 with.

The teachers will be Shihan Shigenori Sato, Director of Kata Instructing Committee of JKF Gojukai, 8th dan Hanshi, and coach of WKF world champions as Hikaru Ohno and Nishiyama Kakeru. With Shihan Sato, we will have teaching on the JKF Gojukai European Seminar, Shihan Tatsuo Takegawa, 8th dan Hanshi, member of the Kata Instructing Committee of JKF Gojukai. Also we will have assistance from different teachers in Europe.

On this seminar, participants also could do JKF Gojukai testing up to 5th dan, and also transference of testing because this is possible when we give an official seminar of JKF Gojukai. For this members, they must have previouse oficial registration on JKF Gojukai, having participation on a previouse JKF Gojukai Seminar, and the certification recognized by WKF or National Federation of your country.

We will do all the necessary efforts to make you be pleased on the fantastic teachings leaded by Kiyohara and Fujiwara sensei’s, on sport facilities of Viseu, making great importance to friendship and togetherness spirit.
